DIARRHOEA CAUSES NORMAL ANION GAP ACIDOSIS

• DIARRHOEA : Excessive loss of intestinal secretions,fluid and electrolytes in stool.
• ANION GAP : Difference between concentration of Cations and Anions present within blood.
• Anion Gap = (Na• + K•)-(HCO3 - + Cl-)
• Actually the unmeasured anions present in trace amount constitute the aniongap.{12mmol/L}.
