Make sample ID

1. For OPD Patient Sample

• On software: date-month-year- serial number starting from 1.
• Example: 2801261
• And 3000 start from fasting blood sugar.

• 4000 start from post prandial blood sugar

• 5000 start from random blood sugar

• Opd patient sample ID in software.

• On vacutainer: HO-1 (If cancer patient add BV as prefix e.g.: BV HO-1)

2. For IPD Patient Sample

• On Software: date-month-year-serial number starting from 1001

Example: 2110261001

• And 6000 start from fasting blood sugar

• 7000 start from post prandial blood sugar

• 8000 start from random blood sugar

• IPD patient sample ID in software.

• Every vacutainer of the same patient will have the same number

Example: If 100th IPD patient comes with two different vacutainers for different tests then sample ID

• On Software: 2110231100

On both vacutainers: 100 And both vacutainers barcode sticker are same

BARCODE

• First check form and vacutainer (name ,age , MRD no.) same in both.

• Enter patient details in the computer and select all the investigations requested in requisition form

• Generate barcode sticker

• Print barcode sticker

• Barcode sticker should be properly pasted on vacutainer

• Do not touch the barcode lining while pasting the barcode on vacutainer, because the machine's barcode reader won’t be able to read scratched or damaged barcodes.
