1. Samples are received in double packaging from transport team.
2. Sample is treated with 1% sodium hypochlorite solution/ spray.
3. Routine test is carried out as per routine SOP for handling of patient specimen.
4. For centrifugation in case of coagulation profile samples , the sample is centrifuged as per SOP but after centrifugation it is placed on rack for 5 minutes undisturbed and then uncapped for further testing.
5. After completion of routine processing, Haematology samples are stored for 24hrs at 2-8℃ temperature & Coagulation samples are stored for 6 hrs at 2-8℃ temperature in separate self in refrigerator & then samples are directly discarded into red bag by servant on daily basis.
6. Red bags are carried out by Envision on daily basis for further disposal procedure.
