One 1st 2nd and 3rd year resident doctors and two technicians are posted for emergency duty daily.
Timings- Monday to Friday- 4 pm to 8 am.
Saturday-1 pm to Monday 8 am.
1St year residents are given 1 week observation posting and for 3 month regular posting in clinical pathology along with hematology, during which, training for all clinical pathology investigations are taken by post M.D person during routine hours.
After finding them competent on routine basis i.e. around 6 weeks, they are allotted night duty on rotation along with their seniors, in which they can sign and dispatch emergency investigation reports independently.
For technicians: The night duties are allotted to the technicians having minimum 1 year experience in clinical pathology lab. They undergo competency evaluation every 6 months and if their performance is unsatisfactory s.o.s. training is given to them.
