REAGENT BOTTLE MANAGEMENT PROCEDURE

  1. Prepare 3 different container for each examination requiring small bottles for storage:
    1. bucket for Unwashed bottle
    2. bucket for Washed bottle
    3. Box for in use reagent filled bottles
  2. After making reagent, fill it in washed reagent bottle used specifically for that reagent only according to label attached (with volume dispenser defined for that reagent, where relevant) and make it air tight.
  3. Apply label with name of reagent, lot number, manufacturing date, expiry date and name of preparing person on each bottle and box containing them. Keep that box away from currently running reagent lot box.
  4. Then calibrate reagent lot in analyzer and evaluate calibration is acceptable or not.
  5. After reagent loading in analyzer, put that currently used bottle's cap over the previous used bottle.
  6. And then discard this bottle in the “unwashed bottle” box.
  7. Remove the old label only during refilling the new reagent in the bottles.

How to wash small reagent bottles?

  1. collect unwashed, empty bottles with previous label intact.
  2. Fill dropper bottle with DI water.
  3. Wash empty bottles and its individual caps 2 times with DI water from dropper bottle.
  4. Invert washed bottles on blank clean paper to make it dry.
  5. After 1 hour (approx),bottles will dry, pack it air tight plastic bag.
  6. Keep all washed reagent bottles in box/plastic bag that is defined as 'Washed bottle' allocated for that particular reagent only.
