Reagent Handling

Following steps will be done by user with prior training with Erba XL-640.
Perform reagent refilling once every morning and in the afternoon and whenever required.
Make sure that No RUN is going on
Switch off power at the right side of XL-640 (light in front of XL-640 become RED) to prevent accidental injury by probe.
Open reagent cover
Refill/replace reagents as mentioned below in table.
Close reagent cover. Match cover-guides properly.
PRESS reagent cover at four place for proper fitting of cover to prevent bending of probe.
switch on power at the right side of XL-640 (light in front of XL-640 become GREEN)
Click reagent tray and then click volume scan.
The screen will show available quantity of reagent and number of tests available.
Referred to following table and take appropriate action.

5	50 ml	DBIL	R1	IN HOUSE (MAKE 2 LITRE).filled in 50 ml bottles(system pack) .	keep new bottle when machine shows reagent empty message
10	20 ml	CHO	R1	KIT(R1=60 ML)	Refill up to 15 ml in morning
41,42	50ml,20ml	ALT	R1=44ml R2=22ml	it is a system pack, R1&R2 to be kept separately in machine	Do not top up R1 or R2, always put new bottles
11,12	50ml,20 ml	UREA	R1=44ml R2=11ml	it is a system pack, R1&R2 to be kept separately in machine	Do not top up R1 or R2, always put new bottles
28	20 ml	CK-MB	Ready to Use MixR1+R2	KIT (R1=2.5 ML R2=tablet).(RECONSTITUTE 2 BOTTLES OF BY ADDING one tab(R2) to one bottle of R1).MIX IT PROPERLY WAIT FOR 15 MINS.THEN TOP UP REAGENT BOTTLE WITHOUT DISCARDING OLD REAGENT)	Refill 2.5 ml when volume scan <1 ml
17	50 ml	ALB	R1	IN HOUSE (2 LITRE)filled in 50 ml bottles(system pack)	keep new bottle when machine shows reagent empty message
18	20 ml	AMY	R1=2ml	NA	2ml R1 bottles. Fill 1 bottle when instrument gives reagent empty message
6,8	20ml,20 ml	ALP	,R1 and R2 separate	IN HOUSE.MAKE 1 LITRE R1,250ml R2.	Fill R1 and R2 separately. Do not top up R2,always wash R2 bottle before filling new reagent	discard reagent when 26th cycle o.d >0.4
22	20 ml	TP	R1	IN HOUSE (MAKE 2 LITRE),filled in 20 ml bottles(system pack)	keep new bottle when machine shows reagent empty message
24	20 ml	MPR	R1	IN HOUSE (MAKE 1 LITRE)	Refill up to 10 ml only when equipment gives message
26	20 ml	UA	Ready to Use, R1 50ml+R2powder	KIT (R1=50+R2=powder)Add 10 ml of R1 in R2 powder and wait for 10 min for powder to dissolve. Aliquate in 8ml bottles and store at 2-8 degre c	Refill up to 1 bottle in morning and in evening
21	50 ml	CR	R2	IN HOUSE (MAKE 2 LITRE)	Discard old and add new 30 ml
23	50 ml	CR	R1	IN HOUSE (MAKE 2 LITRE)	Discard old and add new 30 ml
30	20 ml	TBIL(diazo)	R2	IN HOUSE (MAKE 2 LITRE).20ml Diazo A filled in 20ml system pack bottles, add 600ul diazo b and keep in instrument.	fill tbilr2(diazo pack every 8 hours preferably just before analysing morning,evening and night qc's
13	50 ml	PHO	R1=40ml	INHOUSE(1litre).	Refill in morning and evening
38	20 ml	CK	Ready to Use MixR1+R2	KIT (R1=2.5 ML R2=tablet).(RECONSTITUTE 1 BOTTLE OF BY ADDING one tab(R2) to one bottle of R1).MIX IT PROPERLY WAIT FOR 15 MINS.THEN TOP UP REAGENT BOTTLE WITHOUT DISCARDING OLD REAGENT ( reagent to be kept in refrigerator, to be kept in instrument only when test has to be done)	Refill 2.5 ml when volume scan <1 ml

44	20 ml	LDH	R1	IN HOUSE.MAKE 500ML R1 AND 50 ML R2. aliquoted fixed 9ml R1 in 15ml bottles and fixed 1ml R2 in eppendroffcups	Prepare working reagent by mixing 9ml R1 with 1ml R2(Frozen cups) if volume scan<1 ml
48	20 ml	LIPASE	R1	IN HOUSE (MAKE 500 ML)	Discard residual reagent and refill fresh 5 ml reagent in morning

Precautions taken during Reagent handling

Never try to replace any reagent during run
Allow examinations aborted if any reagent goes empty during run
Allow examinations aborted if any sample goes empty during run
