** Instruction for Ferritin calibrator **

  1. 3 level of calibrator ,frozen powered form
  2. keep at room temperature for 10-15 min
  3. reconstitute with 1 ml of QC water
  4. Make 5 cup of 200 microliter of each level
  5. 1 cup of each l;evel will be used for calibration
  6. Remained 4 cup of each calibrator label it and barcode it and place in a urine microcontained and label those as a fresh cup and use this for next time calibration
  7. retained sample of calibration will be kept in its original bottle ,parafilmed it and place in urine microcontained and label of used cup
  8. Kept all these cup used as well as fresh in friedge no-16

** Ferritin guideline **

  • Ferritine is good marker of iron store and should be used to diagnose iron deficiency
  • Ferritine concentration should not be used alone to identify risk for iron overload so patient with elevated feriitine should receive clinical and laboratory evaluation.

Serum ferritine in iron deficiency

  • In healthy individual,infants and young children <12 ug/L.
  • In children 5 to 10 years, adult and pregnant women <15 ug/L.
  • In infammation or infection, infants and young children <30 ug/L.
  • In children 5 to 10years adult and pregnant women <70 ug/L.

Serum ferritine in risk of iron overload

  • In healthy individual, In children 5 to 10 years, in adult menstruating female >150 ug/L and in male >200 ug/L.
  • In Non healthy individual, In children 5 to 10years adult and older person >500 ug/L
