Installation and troubleshooting

1. First feed the Printer with printer roll.
2. Press Feed button when restart printer.
3. press continuously till printer calibrate and start printing paper
4. after printing stop barcode paper print in last line——> Now in DUMP, press feed button to exit
5. press Feed Button

1. In image quality Resolution should be 203 dpi and darkness should be 30 as shown in below image

1. In cups,in set default option ,according to below image should be there
2. 
3. In printer setting ,darkness should be 30 as shown in below image
4. 

1. Download following files in a folder

1. copy print_barcode to /usr/bin.
2. suppose files are in /home/biochemistry/Downloads folder
3. Open terminal
4. login as root (su)
5. edit file as follows

pico /home/biochemistry/Downloads/print_barcode

1. go to 127.0.0.1:631 and find correct name of printer
2. replace barcode printer name at one place in file
3. save and exit ctrl-o, ctrl-x
5. Run following commands in terminal (one by one)

chmod +x /home/biochemistry/Downloads/print_barcode
cp /home/biochemistry/Downloads/print_barcode /usr/bin  

1. open file manager.
2. go to /home/biochemistry/Downloads/
3. drag and drop print_barcode.desktop on panel (when red vertical line is seen on panel)
4. Run following commands (one by one)

cp /home/biochemistry/Downloads/barcode.png /usr/share/icons

1. now a barcode icon will be seen on panel

1. In the computer where barcode printer is installed, create following files in /usr/bin/
2. To know name of printer go to 127.0.0.1:631 in firefox
3. If required change these names in following files or in printer settings
4. All files below have single line of code

• filename:print_barcode

  lpr -P Zebra_TLP2844 /home/biochemistry/Downloads/barcode.pdf
  rm /home/biochemistry/Downloads/*

• filename:print_ricoh1

lpr -P MP_2001L /home/biochemistry/Downloads/report.pdf

• filename:print_ricoh2

lpr -P RICOH_Aficio_MP_2000 /home/biochemistry/Downloads/report.pdf

1. create their shortcuts on xfce panel
2. make sure that all reports are saved as report.pdf in /home/biochemistry/Downloads
3. make sure that all barcode are saved as barcode.pdf in /home/biochemistry/Downloads
4. make sure that Firefox Preferences are set to Download “Always Ask” as follows

1. Installation
   1. First go to home page
   2. then go to “Adding Printers and Classes”.
   3. then go to “Add Printers”
   4. Select “EPL2”
   5. select 2:1, 230 dpi, thermal type.

1. Label calibration:
   1. power off
   2. press feed button → followed by power on
   3. light blinks (Green → orange –> red)
   4. When red blink (5 times) release feed button (any time during 5 times)
