Post-Examination Process

Purpose

Purpose of procedure for reporting of results is to communicate results of examination to the clinician and patient unambiguously.

Procedure

  1. Printed report
    1. Program LIS to print laboratory report which include all relevant details required.
      1. Make sure that, reporting format adher to NABL guideline to use NABL symbol
      2. Communicate following to LIS programer
        1. Print symbol in black color
        2. do not change its aspect ratio
        3. Only text to be present in symbol is number of certificate (e.g ML-0450)
        4. Do not write extra text (e.g Certificate / Cert.No / NABL Accredited) in symbol
        5. If any test in report is accredited, print symbol
        6. If no test in report is accredited, do not print symbol
        7. If tests in report are combination of accredited and non accredited tests, mention “Not In NABL Scope” in name of the Test / Profile heading; to ensure that its un-accredited status is immediately visible to report reader.

  2. Oral report
    1. Include following in any oral report
      1. Name of patient
      2. Sample ID
      3. Examination name
      4. Result with units
