PURPOSE: To prepare the slide from received body fluid, sputum and BAL fluid

PRINCIPLE: Sedimentation
REAGENT: Glacial acetic acid
PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATION: 2000rpm for 10 mins
SAMPLE: Body fluid, BAL, Urine,Bladder wash, CSF
TYPE OF CONTAINER: Wide mouth sterile container
EQUIPMENT AND REAGENT USED: Conventional centrifuge, cytotek centrifuge,slides, applicator, WBC diluting, specimen, chamber holer, filter paper.
CALIBRATION PROCEDURE: Calibration of centrifuge is done regularly.
PROCEDURE (STEPS):
Conventional centrifuge
Take the fluid into the test tube.
In case of Hemorrhagic fluid, add equal volume of glacial acetic acid to the fluid.
Centrifuge it at 2000 rpm for 10 min.
Remove the supernatant, mix the sediment with the help of vortex mixture, take one drop on slide, prepare the smears.
